Patrol police launched a chatbot to fight drug crimes - Alexey Biloshitsky
More than 7,000 people involved in drug crimes were detained by patrol police in 10 months this year. Every day, dozens of calls about the distribution of bookmarks and inspections of persons in which inspectors detect probable drugs. Often, booksellers are teenagers who are looking for an easy part-time job on the Internet and agree to work as “couriers”.
This was stated by the First Deputy Head of the Department of Patrol Police Alexey Beloshitsky.
“Bookmarks are a relatively new method of drug distribution, which has only gained popularity in recent years. To overcome this problem, to strengthen the interaction of the police and the community in this direction, we launched a communication platform, the DrugHunters chatbot https://t.me/drughunters_ukraine_bot, with which citizens will be able to notify the police in a few clicks about the detected bookmarks or bookmarks,” he said.
This is an exclusively anonymous channel that works in the Telegram messenger, and it can be used by all citizens in those cities of Ukraine where the patrol police work.
To do this, you must open this @drughunters_ukraine_bot link and start the dialogue.
The chatbot will ask you to specify the details — the settlement, the address at which you saw the potential attacker, and a description of the place where, in the applicant's opinion, there may be a bookmark.
It is also necessary to add geolocation and photo/video materials so that the police find the bookmark as soon as possible.
Each such message that will be received by the chatbot, the police will process, going to the place and checking the specified information.
“I remind you that for the illegal production, purchase, storage, transportation, shipment of narcotic drugs - depending on the volume and the presence of the purpose of sale, there may be both administrative liability (this is a fine, public works or administrative arrest), and criminal liability (this is a fine, correctional work, in the end, restriction or even imprisonment), - Alexey Beloshitsky added.
Only by joint efforts will we be able to achieve a result and clean our streets of bookmarks and bookmarks.
