Kyiv police officers blocked the channel of arms sales to the capital
Law enforcement officers detained a car in which a Poltava citizen transported items similar to Kalashnikov AKM and AKSU 5.45 caliber automatic machines, with subsequent sale in the capital for 2 thousand euros per unit. Investigators informed the offender about the suspicion, he faces up to seven years in prison.
During the implementation of operational information, the criminal investigation officers of the Shevchenko Police Department with the strong support of the soldiers of the special purpose police regiment No. 1 document the criminal activities of a resident of the city of Poltava. The man was detained on suspicion of supplying weapons to the capital.
According to the head of the police department No. 2 of the Shevchenko Police Department Oleksandr Dybov, during the operational measures, law enforcement officers established the details of the criminal plan of the Poltavchan and detained him at the entrance to Kiev:
“We found out that the man was carrying “goods” in his car, which was stopped for inspection. During an urgent search in the trunk, we found and seized items similar to Kalashnikov AKM and AKSU 5.45 caliber automatic machines. According to the conclusion of the examination, the seized items belong to combat rifled firearms. In addition, at the place of residence of the defendant, we seized cartridges of various calibers.”
The attacker was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He turned out to be a resident of Poltava, born in 1974, previously convicted of a similar crime.
According to this fact, the investigative department of the Shevchenko police department initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Under the procedural guidance of the Shevchenko District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kyiv, the investigators informed the defendant about the suspicion and the court chose a precautionary measure in the form of detention with the right to make a bail of 45 thousand hryvnias. For his actions, he faces up to seven years in prison.
