The National Police will increase the number of patrol crews on the most emergency sections of roads — Oleksandr Facevych
In addition, on weekends and holidays, additional police uniforms will be involved in the service. Deputy Head of the National Police Oleksandr Fatsevich reported this at a selection meeting with the participation of police heads in the regions.
According to Oleksandr Fatsevich, the department is starting complex preventive measures for road safety.
“I want to emphasize the intensification of work in the direction of monitoring the compliance of bus drivers with traffic rules and passenger transportation rules. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen control over the observance by carriers, drivers and passengers of the rules on quarantine of people, in particular, their compliance with anti-epidemic measures,” the Deputy Head of the National Police said.
Oleksandr Fatsevich added that currently citizens go on vacation en masse. So the issue of road safety is extremely relevant. Therefore, on the most dangerous sections of roads, in particular - of state importance, the number of patrol police crews will increase.
The Deputy Head of the National Police also stressed that the police are intensifying their work in this direction and will continue to detect and document violations of the law in the field of passenger transportation. In addition, the police are focused on identifying facts of violation of the rules of the passage of vehicles whose dimensional or weight parameters exceed the normative ones.
“Within the competence, together with representatives of Ukrtranssecurity, it is necessary to ensure the implementation of enhanced measures of dimensional and weight control. These measures are now very relevant, so it is necessary to plan and attract a sufficient number of patrol police uniforms, police officers for control, together with Ukrtranssecurity units on the ground,” said Deputy Head of the National Police Oleksandr Facevych.
First Deputy Head of the Department of Patrol Police of the National Police Oleksiy Biloshitsky noted that a complex of measures under the conditional name “Safe highways” will continue in the state within a month.
“These measures must be carried out to reduce the level of accidents in all areas, on all sections of roads. Particular attention should be paid to the strengthening of the police presence: the number of patrol police crews and patrol police response teams, especially in places of high emergency. And also, to strengthen cooperation with road owners and balance-keepers for infrastructure impact on accident-hazardous areas.”, - emphasized Oleksiy Biloshitsky.
