The National Police exposed a criminal scheme to seize construction equipment worth more than 150 million hryvnias
By falsifying documents, the attackers re-registered 29 vehicles and mechanisms belonging to a foreign investor and used for the construction of roads. For illegal transactions, those involved face a sentence of five to twelve years in prison.
Investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine under the operational support of the Strategic Investigation Department in the Donetsk region of the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General have exposed the criminal group in fraudulent possession of construction equipment worth more than 150 million hryvnias.
During the pre-trial investigation, the police found that the attackers, including foreign citizens, forged documents and re-registered construction equipment of a foreign investor. In this way, they appropriated 29 vehicles and mechanisms for the construction of highways.
During the sanctioned searches in the city of Mariupol, the police seized part of the vehicles.
Pre-trial investigation is carried out under Part 4 of Art. 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms), part 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud), Part 3 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, squandering of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) and Part 3 of Art. 289 (Illegal possession of a vehicle) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For illegal transactions, those involved face a sentence of five to twelve years in prison.
