The National Police Exposed Members of an Organized Criminal Group in Subordination
Law enforcement officers conducted 21 sanctioned searches of six defendants in Kyiv and Dnipro. The organizer and his accomplices were installed, who involved 63 women in prostitution.
Employees of the Department of Migration Police established a group of persons who organized a business providing sexual services on the territory of Kiev and Dnipro.
The 41-year-old organizer of the crime gang and his accomplices — women aged between 27 and 44 — were looking for those in difficult life circumstances. Abusers, taking advantage of the vulnerability of women, forced them to engage in prostitution, threatening physical assault for refusal.
Therefore, employees of the Department of Migration Police together with the Investigative Department of the Pechersk Department of the Kyiv Police under the procedural guidance of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office and with the support of the special unit TOR simultaneously conducted 21 sanctioned searches.
Searches were carried out in Kyiv and Dnipro for the places of residence of the defendants and the addresses of the provision of sexual services. According to their results, the police found and seized two pistols, premium vehicles, mobile phones, money, draft records and other physical evidence that confirms the criminal activities of the defendants.
Police also identified 63 women who worked as members of an organized criminal group and provided sexual services.
The three defendants were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and declared to them on suspicion of committing a criminal offense.
The pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 303 (Prostitution or involvement of a person in prostitution) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for between four and seven years in prison. Police identify other participants who may be involved in illegal activities.
