The National Police exposed large-scale abuses of the leadership of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine for hundreds of millions of hryvnias
Officials of the corporation, together with business entities, established a criminal scheme to embezzle the property of DPZK, the losses from the sale of which amount to hundreds of millions of hryvnias.
The operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations together with the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police exposed the illegal activities of officials of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers established that the corporation's officials carried out grain export operations to controlled non-resident companies. At the same time, they underestimated the cost and did not make preliminary payment for the goods. During the investigation, the police uncovered numerous facts of the implementation of the criminal scheme. In particular, with the loan funds received under state guarantees, the officials of the state corporation purchased grain through fictitious enterprises and exported the goods at a price much lower than the market. Thus, during January-May of this year alone, about 10 unprofitable foreign economic contracts for grain exports were concluded.
It is also known about the facts of abuse of corporation officials during the conclusion of property insurance contracts. The tariff according to the document was 3-5 times higher than the market value of such services.
Currently, the police are conducting authorized searches in the premises of PJSC “State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine”, in the offices of business entities and at the place of residence of the defendants. Searches are carried out in several areas. Documentation and electronic means of information confirming the illegal activities of the defendants have already been removed.
The pre-trial investigation under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Attorney General is ongoing. Criminal proceedings are investigated under Part 2, 4 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) and Part 2 of Art. 364 (abuse of power or official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The exact amount of losses caused by the unlawful actions of the officials of the DPZK is established. The issue of notifying those involved about suspicions is being resolved.
