National Police Expose Photographer Who Created Pornographic Materials With Children
Priority investigative actions are carried out with the husband. Criminal proceedings are initiated on the fact of obtaining access to, acquiring, storing, importing, transporting or otherwise moving, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of child pornography.
During the pre-trial investigation, it turned out that the 38-year-old man worked as a children's photographer in Kiev, and also organized excursions in one of the capital's museums.
“During the investigative measures, it was established that, having the opportunity to enter into trust with children between the ages of 8 and 18, the defendant forced them through blackmail and threats to participate in the creation of pornographic content. This content was distributed in the United States and European Union countries. Thanks to joint cooperation with colleagues from these countries, additional information was received confirming the participation of this particular citizen in the commission of the crime,” said the head of the Department for the Protection of Public Interests and the State of the National Police Evgeny Makarov.
At present, it is known that the received photo and video materials, in order to hide from outsiders, the man stored in a sanctioned cloud storage. At the same time, it is established that from the IP address used by the photographer, there is a systematic distribution of child pornography, and this is more than 400 files.
“At the place of residence of the offender, law enforcement officers conducted an authorized search. He removed the evidence base, porn content with the participation of children - more than 10 gigabytes, mobile terminals and computer equipment that was used during the creation of this content,” said Yevgeny Makarov.
The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and delivered to the police department for priority investigative actions. He was declared on suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Art. 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Representatives of the Departments for the Protection of Public and State Interests, International Police Cooperation together with the investigators of the Desnyansky Department of the Kyiv Police Department and under the procedural leadership of the Desnyansk District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kyiv exposed his illegal activities of the defendant. Also, with the assistance of the US Embassy in Ukraine and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, comprehensive data indicating illegal activities of the Kiev resident were additionally obtained.
Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying children who have suffered as a result of the actions of the defendant. If proven guilty, he faces up to fifteen years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
