A man was detained in Zhytomyr region for shooting at police
The event took place in the evening of April 25 in the city. Corosthenes. During a family quarrel, a man doused a room in the house and himself with gasoline and barricaded himself, threatening to set fire to the house. During communication with the police, the man shot at the side of the law enforcement officers. None of them were hurt. At the scene of the incident, special officers of the KORD worked, who detained the aggressive Korostenets.
On April 25, about 22:30 a resident of the city. Korostenia reported to Special Line 102 about a family conflict with a roommate, during which the man resorted to violence, and then doused the room and himself with fuel and began to threaten arson. The 40-year-old woman specified that in addition to her and her husband, there are three children in the house, aged 11, 15 and 19 years.
The police officers of the response sector and the investigative and operational team of the Korosten District Administration immediately left at the address indicated by the applicant. At the time of their arrival, it turned out that the woman and two children, aged 11 and 15, had left the house. Another 19-year-old son of a woman remained in the house. The police went inside and tried to negotiate with the aggressive man, but he refused to communicate. Law enforcement officers managed to get the young man out of the house to protect him.
At this time, the man closed in and began displaying a pistol and lighters, with which he continued to threaten with arson. When the police tried again to approach the front door of the house, he shot in their direction. The bullet touched and damaged the body armor of the patrol police response sector inspector. The law enforcement officer himself was not injured.
Therefore, at 23:30 the head of the Main Department of the NP in the Zhytomyr region on the territory of the city. Korosten initiated a special operation to detain an armed offender. Special officers of the KORD arrived at the scene.
“Given the danger that the man posed both to himself and to the people around him, one should have acted cautiously and with caution. Therefore, for more than three hours, Kordivci held talks with a man barricaded in the house, receiving the necessary information and orientating themselves with further actions. During the execution of one of the agreements, a group of special agents entered the house and instantly detained the owner. As a result of the operation, none of the people were injured. A pistol of traumatic action was removed from the house, preliminary,” commented the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region Yuri Oliynyk.
Currently, the 45-year-old shrew is in custody under the order of Art. 208 (Detention by an authorized official) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The preliminary qualification of the event — Art. 348 (Invasion of the life of an employee of a law enforcement agency, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border or a serviceman) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Necessary procedural investigative actions are carried out. According to the current legislation, this offense is punishable by 9 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
