In Zhytomyr region, police officers accused an official of receiving a bribe for the sale of selective vegetables
On April 13, detectives of the Investigative Department of the GUNP of Zhytomyr region, together with the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the field of SSR NPU, detained the director of one of the research stations. The man is suspected of systematically extorting and obtaining illegal benefits from legal entities and individuals. The scheme was to pay half the value of the selected vegetables when they were sold directly to the official.
During the pre-trial investigation, the police established a well-established mechanism of illegal actions.
Thus, during investigative and investigative measures, including non-public ones, the sale of varietal vegetables to individuals and legal entities at their real value was recorded, but only half the price was indicated in the financial and economic documents. The difference was paid out of the accounts to the director of the research station.
On April 13, the police detained the official immediately after he received 84 thousand hryvnias of illegal profit for the sale of 14 tons of vegetables. The real value of the breeding product amounted to almost 170 thousand hryvnias.
This was the next stage of documenting the illegal activities of the head of the research station. Therefore, he was detained under the order of Art. 208 (Detention by an authorized official) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
At the moment, the issue of declaring a man suspected of committing a criminal offense, provided for in part 3 of Art. 3, is being resolved. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
All investigative actions were carried out under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
