An employee of the State Agency for Forest Resources was detained on a bribe in Transcarpathia
An employee of one of the forestry farms of Transcarpathia received 32 thousand hryvnias from a local resident. In total, the suspect demanded $2,000 or a foreign-registered car of such value.
For illegal profit, the man promised to “turn a blind eye” to the illegal chopping of valuable wood on the territory of the farm and allow its further transportation.
Yesterday, April 15, operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Transcarpathian region with law enforcement colleagues detained a forestry worker in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. 20,000 hryvnias of illegal benefits received by him were confiscated. Earlier it was documented that the defendant received the first “tranche” of the bribe — 12,000 hryvnias.
The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
