In Transcarpathia, about 35,000 liters of alcohol were seized in an underground gourd
Law enforcement officers discovered artisanal lines of alcohol production. Alcohol was poured into containers with labels of famous brands, on which fake excise stamps were glued.
In the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 199 Criminal Code, violated according to the materials of the operational unit of the Chopsky border detachment, a number of searches were conducted in the Uzhgorod district from December 15 to 17. Investigative actions were carried out at the addresses of residence of the defendants in this case by the operatives of the Chopsky detachment and the special unit “DOZOR” under the procedural leadership of the Perechin Department of the Uzhgorod District Prosecutor's Office with the involvement of representatives of the investigative department of NP №1 of the Uzhhorod RUP GUNP in Transcarpathia region.
As a result, law enforcement officers seized containers of ethyl alcohol and counterfeit alcoholic beverages with fake excise tax stamps. The total volume of alcohol and spirits withdrawn was about 35,000 liters. In the clandestine gural, law enforcement also discovered thousands of counterfeit excise stamps, labels of various brands and tens of thousands of units of empty containers.
