In Transcarpathia, law enforcement officers detained the organizer of the channel for the supply of weapons to the region
Law enforcement officers blocked the channel of distribution of weapons in the territory of the Transcarpathian region. The organizer was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. He faces up to 7 years in prison.
Investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region, under the operational support of the staff of the USBU and under the procedural guidance of the specialized prosecutor's office in the military and defense sphere, blocked the supply channel to the region of weapons and means of destruction.
During the special operation, law enforcement officers managed to detain the organizer of the channel. He was caught in Mukachevo directly during an attempt to market an entire arsenal: two Glock pistols, 22 bayonet knives, a night vision sight and 14 grenades with incendiaries to them. In this way, law enforcement officers managed to prevent the use of a large number of weapons for criminal purposes.
In addition, during the control of the commission of the crime, law enforcement officers documented another fact of the sale by the attacker of an AK-47 assault rifle and two RGD-5 grenades.
All material evidence was seized by investigators and sent to an expert for investigation. The organizer of the channel was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention center. On the fact of illegal handling of weapons, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In the near future, investigators will inform the attacker about the suspicion, after which they will apply to the court with a request to keep him in custody. The detainee faces from 3 to 7 years in prison.
