In Transcarpathia, the police detained a criminal “authority” with his accomplices — they demanded money to order and spread criminal influence in the region
The attacker has the status of a so-called “spy” for one of the districts of the Transcarpathian region. Significantly influenced local criminality and involved others in illegal activities.
Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Transcarpathian region established the involvement of “authority” in organizing the extortion of $7,500 from a local resident. He attracted an accomplice, who also has a criminal past, to knock out the said amount as a non-existent debt. At the same time, those involved threatened the victim and even caused him bodily harm. In addition, it was established that another resident of Transcarpathia, a private entrepreneur, “ordered” the recovery of “debt”.
Yesterday, June 2, operatives, investigators of the Mukachevo Regional Police Department and the Investigative Department of the Regional Police with the force support of KORD and special officers of the special purpose police regiment detained three attackers in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
They also searched the places of residence and in the vehicles of the defendants. Collected “rough” records, cold and other weapons, cash, bank cards, mobile phones and other things confirming criminal activity. The issue of notifying them of suspicions is being resolved.
Criminal proceedings are opened under Part 2, 3 of Art. 189 (extortion), Part 1 of Art. 255-1 (establishment and dissemination of criminal influence), Part 1 of Art. 255-3 (appeal for criminal influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Procedural management is carried out by employees of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.
