Operatives of the migration police, together with the investigators of the Khust district department with the participation of employees of the State Border Service, blocked the activity of the channel of transportation of illegal migrants across the state border of Ukraine and exposed persons involved in the crime.
Law enforcement officers detained a resident of the Chernivtsi region, who transported immigrants from South Asian countries to the codon zone.
The police found out that the accused has accomplices.
One of them, a 40-year-old resident of the Tyachiv district, was found by law enforcement officers in one of the recreation complexes in the village of Shayan, in the Khust region, where he was with two foreign clients. It was established that the defendant for monetary reward had to contribute to the transportation of illegal immigrants across the state border.
Currently, investigators are conducting a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. facilitating the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine, by providing means and removing obstacles committed against several persons.
For the committed acts, the defendants face up to seven years in prison.
The pre-trial investigation continues.
