In Khmelnytskyi region, police opened criminal proceedings on the fact that a balloon fell with people on board
Investigators of the Kamianets-Podilskyi District Police Department opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of air flight rules) on the fact that a balloon with people on board fell during the Balloon Festival.
The tragedy occurred on May 22, around 20.45 hours, near the village. Kulchiivtsi Kamianets-Podilskyi district. On board the balloon were the pilot and five passengers — two men from Khmelnytskyi, a couple from Priluk and a resident of Kamianets-Podilskyi district.
As a result of the fall of the bullet, a 53-year-old resident of Priluk died. His wife, other passengers, as well as the 28-year-old pilot, who is a resident of Kiev, suffered injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized in medical facilities.
Investigators of the Kamianets-Podilskyi district police department of the GUNP in Khmelnytsky region have opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the rules of air flights.
The investigation is ongoing.
