Khmelnytskyi region: police detained the head of the state enterprise of the Defense Department on a bribe
Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Khmelnytsky region and investigators of the regional police exposed the illegal activities of the official.
As the police established, for assistance in signing the warehouse lease agreement, the head of the state-owned enterprise demanded 10,000 hryvnias of illegal benefits from the entrepreneur every month.
Yesterday, January 5, he was detained by operatives and investigators while receiving a “tranche” in the amount of 20,000 hryvnias, of which 10,000 for January and the same amount for February. Earlier, in December last year, the fact of receiving another 10,000 hryvnias was documented.
Currently, the head of the State Enterprise of the Defense Department has been detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying an official of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For this, he may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
Procedural leadership in criminal proceedings is carried out by Khmelnytsky specialized prosecutor's office in the military and defense sphere of the Western region. Measures to expose illegal activities were carried out with the participation of employees of the USBU in the Khmelnytsky region.
