In Khmelnytskyi Oblast, deputies of the regional council created an interfactional association “For Safe Podillya” and at the next session adopted the “Program to promote the development of voluntary fire protection”
Ensuring public safety and developing the movement of voluntary firefighters at the local level are priority tasks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The most effective step in this direction is to involve residents of communities with an active life position. The deputies of the Khmelnytsky Regional Council decided to join the popularization of the voluntary fire movement, who today, December 22, at the next session, created the interfactional association “For Safe Podillya”.
The deputy group of 29 out of 64 deputies, which included the Chairperson of the Khmelnytsky Regional Council Violeta Labaziuk and her deputies, the heads of the largest agricultural formations, institutions and organizations of the region, as well as the head of the Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration and his first deputy, became the largest association in the region advice. The deputies fulfilled the conditions for joining the ranks of volunteers, so immediately at the session they were presented with the appropriate certificates.
“It is extremely gratifying that my native Khmelnytskyi region gives an example of consolidating the efforts of executive authorities, local self-government, business and the public in this direction in the state. The creation of such associations at different levels is a sustainable experience for European countries, and for Ukraine it is a pilot project, which has no analogues in our country, and an example for deputies of all levels,” said Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Roman Primush.
At the session of the regional council, for the first time in the state, deputies also adopted the “Program to promote the development of voluntary fire protection, popularization of volunteer fire movement in settlements of Khmelnytsky region for 2022-2026”, which provides measures for communication with the public and popularization of voluntary fire movement, including among children and young people, training in the basics of fire safety, extinguishing fires and providing medical care, promoting the formation and functioning of voluntary fire protection, including the provision of premises, means for extinguishing fires, protective clothing, rescue equipment and equipment, automatic volunteer alert systems and volunteer firefighters' wives members' insurance.
The program should become a roadmap for local governments and civil society institutions in building a volunteer fire movement, and the result of its implementation is the creation of safe and comfortable living conditions for residents of communities.
