In Kherson region, police discovered cannabis cultivation worth about a million hryvnias
Yesterday, September 27, in the village of Monastyrske, Beryslav district, police seized plantations of elite varieties of hemp. The cost of the prohibited substance at the prices of the “black market” is about one million hryvnias. The removed plants are referred for research. Currently, criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been initiated on this fact.
Beryslav district police officers received information that hemp is probably grown near the village of Monastyrskoe in a field with agricultural products in a greenhouse. During the check, the information was confirmed. In the greenhouse, the police did find 56 bushes of elite varieties of hemp with traces of care.
According to the head of the Beryslav district police department Alexey Peshkov, several residents of the area are involved in illegal activities. Law enforcement officers are checking the possible involvement of men in the sale of drugs. Prohibited plants are removed and their samples sent for examination.
According to this fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Sowing or cultivation of dreamy poppy or hemp”. For growing more than 50 cannabis bushes, there is a punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of three to seven years. Investigative actions continue.
