In Kherson region, police discovered drug plantation and seized cannabis worth 5 million hryvnias

In two greenhouses, police found more than 200 bushes of elite cannabis varieties up to two meters high. Also, law enforcement officers seized dried hemp plants weighing more than 10 kg. At “black market” prices, the value of the withdrawn is approximately 5 million hryvnias.

Employees of the police station No. 1 (Kakhovka) in one of the villages of the Kakhovsky district found two greenhouses, completely planted with elite varieties of hemp from 1.5 to 2 meters high. The plants were with traces of care and drip irrigation was applied to them, the hemp was fertilized with mineral fertilizers. And to hide the greenhouses, the drug dealer placed them in the middle of the garden.

Also, during a search in the attic of the house, law enforcement officers found dried cannabis bushes with a total weight of about 10 kg. The traumatic gun “Fort” was seized from the man, now its origin is established.

According to the head of the police department No. 1 (Kakhovka) Viktor Popov, a 31-year-old local resident who was not previously convicted was the owner of the drug plantation. He said that he allegedly grew hemp for his own needs, and ordered the seeds over the Internet. He also allegedly purchased a gun for self-defense. This information is checked.

Police officers seized cannabis, samples sent for research. Law enforcement officers are working out the man's connections and his possible involvement in drug trafficking. Preliminary qualification of a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 310 “Sowing or cultivation of dreamy poppy or hemp” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
