In the Kherson region, an employee of the Kakhovsky police department died in the performance of official duties
Today, August 15, in the morning in the village. A worker of the response sector of the patrol police of the local police unit and a representative of the service “103” received knife wounds during the service of the call of the Novokakhov city community. Unfortunately, for the police inspector, the resulting injury turned out to be incompatible with life. Criminal proceedings under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are now open. The attacker is detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The police team of the Kherson region expresses sincere condolences to the relatives and relatives of the deceased colleague.
According to the head of the regional police chief Oleksandr Prokudin, around seven in the morning a resident of the village called the numbers “102" and “103". Cheerful. The woman reported that her 44-year-old son, who is on the register, had a sharp exacerbation of mental illness. Also, the mother reported that she managed to lock her son in the summer kitchen. The crew of the response team of the local police unit and ambulance were evacuated to the specified address. However, when a police officer and a medical worker entered the yard, a sick man, breaking down the door, ran outside with a knife in his hands and caused knife wounds to the paramedic and a 43-year-old senior police sergeant. Unfortunately, the policeman died from his injuries on the way to the hospital. There is no threat to the life of the health worker. The attacker was disarmed by soldiers of a company of special purpose police who arrived to help.
Now the citizen is detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A team of investigators of the regional police chief works at the scene. Preliminary qualification — Art. 348 (Invasion of the life of an employee of a law enforcement agency, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border or a serviceman) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of nine to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
