In Volyn, investigators announced suspicion of an official of a woodworking enterprise for illegal logging
In the framework of open criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 246, Part 2 of Art. 246, Part 4 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine authorized searches are carried out at the enterprise in Kovel district.
Untreated products - timber, obtained as a result of illegal violations, are seized. About 400 m3 of timber has already been removed. Searches continue.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that, starting from 2018, the company's officials, in order to illegally manufacture and export lumber, acting under a preliminary collusion with individual entrepreneurs, organized in the territory of Kovel district without appropriate permits the chopping of trees of various breeds, which were subsequently transported and processed for export to European countries.
It was also established that part of the untreated products, which came from private entities, was obtained as a result of illegal trafficking, without executed documents.
During the previous searches in April, timber with tags was seized, during the inspection of which their reuse was established, namely, when obtaining certificates of origin of wood for export operations for its sale outside the territory of Ukraine.
Today, the official of this enterprise was declared a suspicion under Part 2 of Article 246 and Part 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: it concerns both illegal forgery, transportation, storage, sale of forest, and the use of knowingly forged documents.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
