In Vinnytsia region, investigators announced a suspicion of an organized criminal group that committed apartment thefts on the territory of the country
On April 8, investigators of the regional police chief under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office announced the suspicion of committing particularly large thefts to three members of the criminal group from Mariupol, who were detained on October 16 by the fighters of the Vinnytsia special unit KORD in the city. Khmelnitsky. The pre-trial investigation in this case has been completed.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that a 34-year-old resident of Mariupol organized a criminal group that specialized in thefts from private homes of residents of different regions of Ukraine. The group included the organizer's younger brother and a comrade. All of them have previously been convicted of theft, robbery and illegal possession of vehicles.
According to the deputy head of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region Oleksandr Soldatov, the perpetrators carefully prepared for the crimes, clearly distributing the roles. They chose houses in advance, watched the owners, and in their absence, by squeezing the window, penetrated the dwelling. During the commission of the crime, the suspects communicated through radio stations. From the homes of the victims, they stole money and jewelry.
To commit crimes, the members of the group used three cars. During the arrest in the Volkswagen Transporter minibus, on which the intruders were moving after committing another theft in the Vinnytsia district, the police seized jewelry, keys, gloves, radios, shocks, weapons and other items that testified to their criminal actions.
The involvement of the detainees in committing five thefts in Donetsk, Kyiv and Vinnytsia regions amounting to more than half a million hryvnias has been proven.
The defendants of criminal proceedings were notified by investigators of suspicion of committing crimes stipulated in Part 5 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft committed on a particularly large scale or by an organized group). The pre-trial investigation in the case is completed and with the indictment the materials of the proceedings are directed to the court. For such a crime, the suspect faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
