In Vinnytsia region, the police blocked the drug supply channel to places of imprisonment
On May 6, during a special operation, the investigators of the Vinnytsia District Police Department together with the employees of the Strategic Investigation Department with the strong support of the KORD special unit fighters detained a group of persons who had established a drug supply channel to places of imprisonment. While documenting the next crime, the police detained the car of the intruders near the correctional colony. In the car, investigators seized drugs and special devices, with the help of which they transferred them to the territory of the penal institution.
According to the head of the Vinnytsia District Police Department Vitaliy Kurchik, during the operational development carried out jointly with the employees of the Office of Strategic Investigations and the employees of the Interregional Department for Sentencing of the Ministry of Justice near the correctional colony, the police detained the car on which the maliciously moved minions. During a search of their car, police seized a plastic bag containing cannabis, SIM cards, bank cards and money. In addition, narcotic substances and devices with which offenders transferred drugs to convicts were seized during searches of the detainees' residence.
Material evidence is submitted for examination. During the documentation of the criminal activities of the group, police officers recorded about a dozen facts of transfer of drugs to the territory of the institution of execution of sentences.
According to the available operational information, the channel for the supply of narcotic substances to the convicts was coordinated by the “spy” and his confidant. They distributed them among the prisoners.
In places of detention, police officers conducted sanctioned searches, during which drugs, mobile phones, SIM cards, tablets were seized from convicts.
The offenders are detained in procedural order and are in a temporary detention facility. They were declared a suspect. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for detainees in the form of detention is resolved.
Documentation of criminal activities of the group is carried out within the framework of open criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without). For such an offense, up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property is provided.
