In Vinnytsia region, police detained an organized criminal group that stole the money of shareholders from an agricultural enterprise
Five members of the criminal group were detained by employees of the criminal police of the regional head and fighters of the special unit KORD on the night of December 9 near a gas station on the Nemyriv highway at the entrance to Vinnytsia. The attackers returned after the crime committed on the territory of the farm in the village of Komariv, Vinnytsia district. Members of the group have previously been held criminally liable for property crimes. They are suspected of committing about a dozen similar thefts in the region.
According to the head of the GUNP in Vinnytsia region Ivan Ishchenko, the members of the group were detained by the police immediately after the crime was committed during the implementation of operational information. At night, the offenders broke the grille on the windows of the administrative premises of the farm and stole 220 thousand hryvnias from the safe, intended for payments to shareholders. According to available information, the detainees are suspected of committing about a dozen similar thefts in the territory of Vinnytsia region.
The attackers prepared carefully for the crimes, having previously distributed the roles among themselves. From the car in which the suspects were traveling, the police removed the weapons of the crime — tools for breaking safes, locks, metal grates, balaclavas, walkie-talkies, keychains and other physical evidence of their illegal activities. They also seized money stolen from the enterprise.
Detainees are Vinnytsia citizens, previously convicted of property crimes aged 21 to 50 years. They are detained in procedural order on suspicion of committing a crime provided for in Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft), for which they are threatened with up to 6 years in prison.
The intruders are placed in a temporary detention facility. The investigation is preparing materials for notifying them of suspicion and choosing a precautionary measure in the form of detention.
