In Vinnytsia region, police officers have exposed officials of the sanatorium in the appropriation of almost 5 million hryvnias of state funds
Investigators-detectives with the prompt support of employees of the Department of Public Interest Protection and State of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region exposed the illegal activities of officials of one of the sanatorium-medical institutions that caused damage to the state-owned enterprise. On July 23, one of them was declared a suspect. Involvement in the crime of other officials is documented during the pre-trial investigation. Procedural management is carried out by the prosecutor's office of the region.
According to the deputy chief of the regional police chief Oleksandr Soldatov, the investigation established that for several years, the funds that vacationers paid for outpatient treatment and additional payments for the extension of the duration of the vouchers were not capitalized, and the applications and profitable cash orders submitted by them were destroyed. According to the audit act, the amount of funds appropriated in this way amounted to 4 million 800 thousand hryvnias.
In order to conceal criminal acts and avoid criminal liability, in particular, the former senior cashier of the sanatorium drew up and signed acts on the results of the inventory of the available funds stored in the treasury of the sanatorium, where knowingly false information was entered.
At present, the offender has been declared suspected of committing the crime provided for in part 5 of Art. 191 (appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position), part 2 of Art. 358 (forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of counterfeit documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of up to twelve years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with confiscation of property..
During the investigation, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of other officials involved in the criminal scheme.
