In Sumy region, the police reported on suspicion of misappropriation of property to the director of one of the enterprises
Police officers in Konotop have exposed an official who, abusing his official position, caused losses to the company in the amount of more than three million hryvnias.
During the investigation, the investigators of the Konotop district police department found that in March 2019, the 55-year-old director of the regional unit of one of the Ukrainian companies selling mineral fertilizers transferred 352 tons of ammonium nitrate free of charge to the benefit of a third-party business entity.
To this end, the man manually wrote out fictitious invoices on saltpeter and printed passes for the departure and export of mineral fertilizers outside the enterprise. And later, for more than a year and a half, in order to hide his illegal actions and lack of nitrate, he forged inventory documentation about the presence of these products in the warehouse.
As a result of his illegal actions, the manager caused losses to the company in the amount of 3 629 120 hryvnia.
According to this fact, the investigators opened criminal proceedings, within the framework of which a sufficient amount of evidence of the illegal activity of the official was collected. He, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, has already been informed of the suspicion of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, squandering of property or possession of it by abuse of official position), and Part 1 of Art. 366 (Forgery of service) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For the committed act, a man faces criminal liability in the form of imprisonment for up to twelve years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with the confiscation of property. Investigative actions continue.
