In Sumy region, police promptly detained a group of thieves
Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department, the Criminal Analysis Department, the Investigative Department of the Regional Police, together with the investigators of the Sumy District Police Department and the Romensky District Police Department, with the force support of the special unit “CORD”, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, have exposed three people who carried out thefts from stores on territory of the region.
The intruders were detained immediately after they committed three thefts from shops in the village of Nedryhayliv, Romensky district. They were previously convicted of committing selfish crimes by residents of Sumy and Sumy district. Men from 29 to 45 years old.
They had with them a considerable number of different keys, money, as well as things stolen from stores.
The attackers are suspected of committing about 40 similar crimes in the region.
Currently, police are conducting urgent searches of their places of residence and probable places of storage of stolen property.
According to this fact, the investigators of the Romensky district police department opened criminal proceedings on the basis of Part 3 of Art. 185 “Theft” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The attackers were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions continue.
