Criminal proceedings have been opened in Rivne region due to land contamination
A police officer of the community reported about the downpour of a substance of unknown origin in a field near the village of Kolodenka, Rivne district, yesterday, July 23.
An investigative task force on the soil between the allotments served by one of the agricultural holdings found a pinkish substance in an area of 635.8 square meters. Employees of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service, the Environmental and State Consumer Service also worked at the scene of the incident. Specialists selected soil samples for appropriate examinations.
On the fact of contamination of land with substances harmful to life, human health or the environment, the investigative department No. 1 of the Rivne district police department entered information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 1 of Art. 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Based on the results of all assigned studies, the question of the final legal qualification of the event will be decided. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to two hundred minimum taxable incomes of citizens or deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
