In Rivne region, investigators reported on suspicion of the head of the medical institution for the illegal payment of more than 400 thousand “covid” funds
The criminal activities of the 47-year-old official were exposed by police officers under the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Rivne region and the procedural leadership of the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office.
A pre-trial investigation found that the attacker, abusing his official position, during April-June 2021 during the distribution of funds intended to pay medical and other workers (who are directly engaged in the work to eliminate the respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus) unreasonably signed orders. Based on them, surcharges were accrued and paid to employees who, in their functional duties, could not and were not involved to provide medical care to patients with COVID-19 or suspected coronavirus infection. Thus, the state suffered losses of almost 437 thousand hryvnias.
As a result of the procedural actions, the investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Rivne Oblast collected enough evidence and informed the 47-year-old perpetrator of the suspicion of abuse of official position, which caused severe consequences, according to part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is currently being decided. For his actions, he faces imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand of the minimum taxable income of citizens.
