In Rivne region, law enforcement officers strengthen border security with Belarus
Today, November 17, a meeting was held in Varash under the leadership of the head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko on the situation at the state border with the Republic of Belarus. The meeting was attended by the chairman of the heads of law enforcement and law enforcement agencies, the Rivne Regional State Administration Vitaliy Koval, the head of local state administrations and territorial communities.
Igor Klymenko stressed the implementation of preventive measures on the border territory of Rivne region in connection with possible illegal migration from the Republic of Belarus.
“For Ukraine, there are two priority issues — the protection of the state border and the security of the population. Today we discussed the clear interaction of security forces and local authorities in case of possible border penetration by illegal migrants. The forces of the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard and the National Police will be responsible for border protection. We will also cooperate with local military and public formations operating on the territory of Varas and Sarnensky districts,” said Igor Klymenko.
In the near future, large-scale exercises will be conducted near the border territory with Belarus, with the participation of units of all security structures, territorial defense and civil formations.
In turn, the head of the 9th border detachment named after the Sichov Shooters Anton Kvyatkovsky noted that the border guards are ready to perform tasks as intended. Established interaction with the National Police, the National Guard, the units of the State Emergency Service.
“At the moment, the situation on the border is under control. In addition, we will strengthen border protection, increase forces and means to control the border and stem the flow of migrants if necessary. We will increase the density of border protection,” he said.
The head of the Main Department of the National Police in Rivne region Oleksiy Kamyshansky stressed that law enforcement officers are ready to ensure the safety of citizens in the border zone.
Igor Klymenko urged residents of border territories — in case of detection of suspicious persons in their settlement of foreigners, immediately report this to the police. Such people will check the documents and establish the reason for their stay in our state.
