In Rivne region, police detained a woman for attacking a police officer
A 47-year-old police officer received bodily injuries from a drunk resident of Varash yesterday, April 22, at about 17 o'clock. The police officer was hospitalized, and the offender was placed in a temporary detention center.
The investigative and operational team established that the district police officer was on duty and, at the request of local residents, went to the applicant in the Budivelniki neighborhood. She heard taunts and threats against her from a drunk 30-year-old local who was sitting on a bench. The police officer made a remark to her and warned that by such actions she was committing an administrative offense. The woman, who outwardly was intoxicated, ignored the demand of the police to stop the illegal act and began to resist.
The abuser continued to make obscene expressions and provoke a fight. The officer reported the conflict to the special line “102". When the 30-year-old intruder heard this, she attacked the police station, scarred her uniform, and then hit her on the head with a glass bottle. The police of the patrol police response sector, who came to the call, detained the offender and brought him to the Varas district department.
The injured officer was hospitalized. Doctors diagnosed her with a closed craniocerebral head injury, concussion, a fractured frontal bone and numerous bruises.
Upon the fact of causing bodily harm to a police officer, in connection with the performance of official duties, criminal proceedings were opened according to the preliminary legal qualification of Part 2 of Art. 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Based on the results of forensic examination, a final procedural decision will be made.
A resident of Varash was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying her of suspicion and choosing a precautionary measure is being resolved. The attacker faces punishment in the form of restriction or imprisonment for up to five years.
It is known that the woman abuses alcoholic beverages and has already repeatedly come into the field of view of the police: for committing domestic violence, she is on record.
