In Poltava region, the police have exposed a criminal group led by a criminal authority, involved in an attempt at a custom-made murder
Four men are suspected of committing a particularly serious crime. One of them is the criminal authority, which, in addition to organizing an attempt at premeditated murder in Poltava, incriminates criminal influence on the criminal environment in the region.
The participants of the criminal group were exposed in Kremenchug by the employees of the Poltava police investigation department together with the Criminal Investigation Department and the Regional Directorate of Strategic Investigations, under the procedural leadership of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Recall that the crime took place in the regional center on the street. Nizhnemlinskaya, January 12 of this year. At about 12 o'clock, a motorcycle with two unknowns drove up to one of the premises located at this address. One of them fired several shots at a man. After that, the motorcycle with the violators disappeared from the scene, and the victim with a gunshot wound was hospitalized in the hospital.
Operational and investigative measures were immediately organized to identify and detain criminals. Half an hour after the crime, the police found a burned motorcycle without license plates, on which the suspects were traveling, in a forest strip on the street. Head.
For more than three months, experienced operatives and investigators worked on processing and analyzing a significant amount of information and carried out the necessary procedural actions.
Ivan Vyhivsky, Poltava region police chief, said: “On May 19, after carrying out a complex of operational-search and investigative measures, we managed to follow the trail of the members of the criminal group involved in the assassination attempt. Investigators conducted a number of authorized searches at the addresses of the defendants, during which material evidence was seized. At present, four individuals have been reported on suspicion of attempted premeditated murder, committed by order, by a preliminary conspiracy by a group of persons. In addition, one of the defendants, who has the status of the so-called “criminal authority” and is the organizer of the commission of this crime, incriminates the deliberate establishment or spread of criminal influence on the criminogenic situation in the region.”
At the time, the investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office, prepared a petition to the court to take the defendants into custody.
Pre-trial investigation is carried out under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 2 of Article 15 (completed attempt), parts 3, 4, 5 of Article 27 (complicity in a criminal offense — organizer, instigator, accomplice), paragraphs 11 and 12 of part 2 of Article 115 (intentional murder committed on order, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons), as well as under part 3 of Article 255-1 (intentional establishment or dissemination in society of criminal influence committed by a person who is in the status of a subject of increased criminal influence). Investigative actions are ongoing.
If the court finds the defendants guilty of criminal offenses, they face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
