In Poltava region, police stopped raider's attempt to seize agricultural enterprises
Information about the raider seizure of the agricultural enterprise, which is located on the territory of the Grebinkivsk district of Poltava region, was received by the police of the region on April 2. Investigators and operatives of the regional police, under the procedural guidance of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with employees of the Lubny Police Department, with the involvement of employees of the special purpose police battalion, stopped the offenses. The perpetrators of the crime have now been identified. Within the framework of open criminal proceedings, investigative actions are ongoing.
Artem Rodigin, deputy chief of police of Poltava region, said:
“After receiving information about the raider seizure of the enterprise, police uniforms, the investigative task force and special agents immediately arrived at the scene. According to the preliminary version of the investigation, it was established that unknown persons broke into the specified enterprise, who stated that they were representatives of a security firm and arrived in order to provide security services. These persons did not allow the director of the enterprise to his workplace. The police officers who arrived at the scene immediately took appropriate legal measures to stop the offense.”
He added that in the course of urgent investigative actions it was established that officials (former directors) of said enterprise, acting in collusion with each other, organized a criminal scheme and by committing a transaction using forged documents unlawfully seized the property of “STOV” which caused the latter great harm. On the basis of the collected evidence, investigators of the investigative department and operatives of the territorial units of the GUNP in the Poltava region, under the procedural guidance of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office, within the framework of the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 206-2 (Illegal possession of property enterprise) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, two organizers of the specified criminal offense (former directors of the enterprise) were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Currently, measures are being taken to establish and bring to legal responsibility other persons involved in the commission of the crime.
In case of illegal possession of the property of the enterprise, investigative actions are ongoing. In case of proof of guilt by the court, the defendants face up to 10 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
