A resident of Kirovohrad region was arrested in Odesa region on suspicion of murder of a pensioner and an entrepreneur
Police investigators declared the attacker suspected under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — 115, 187, 289 and 185, and the court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention without the right to make bail.
It has been established that a man who was repeatedly convicted of theft and illegal possession of vehicles, who was released from prison at the end of April, broke the head of a 55-year-old Vinnytsia resident while accompanying him on a shopping trip.
The attacker admitted that he and the businessman quarreled after drinking too much while resting by the river, but for what reason - he did not remember. Leaving the murdered man right in the water where everything happened, he fled the scene of the crime in his minibus filled with property.
The body of the man, who was wanted by law enforcement officers of the Vinnytsia region as missing, was found at the end of July on the bank of the river Pivdenny Bug in the Podilsky district of Odessa region, and his Mercedes-Benz - in a field in the territory of Kirovograd region.
A Kirovograd came to the house of an 83-year-old pensioner from Lyubashevsk united territorial community to steal money, and after being spotted by the owner, strangled him and hit him with an ax, took 11 thousand hryvnias from his household and fled.
The actions of the attacker were classified by law enforcement officers as a robbery attack on a pensioner and intentional murder of an elderly man for selfish motives, as well as intentional murder of a businessman, illegal possession of his vehicle and property. Suspicions of the accused were announced and placed in custody. For the crime, the man is threatened with life imprisonment.
Investigative actions and search activities were carried out by law enforcement officers of the Odessa, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions under the procedural direction of the Lyubashiv district prosecutor's office.
