Police are now finding out what made the siblings, 6 and 12 years old, run 10 kilometers from their home.

“The boys were reported to the police by ordinary citizens who were driving on the highway and noticed that they themselves were walking along the road without shoes. We went to a place that people had pointed to, and found the children. As cars approached, they hid in roadside plantations. When we asked what they were afraid of, we heard in response: returning home to Vinnytsia region,” said Kateryna Nigretskul, head of the juvenile prevention sector of the Podolsk district police department.

Law enforcement officers warmed and calmed the children. The brothers said they live with a younger sister, mother and stepfather, who allegedly insults them. And this was the reason that they went to look for shelter in the grandmother, who lives in the Baltic region of the Odessa region.

Juveniles found an elderly woman. It turned out: grandchildren are frequent guests in her house, so she had all the necessary things to dress them.

“We informed our colleagues from the neighboring region about the current situation. At that time, they did not receive reports of disappearance from the children's home. Police are now looking for the boys' mother to find out what happened in their family. In the meantime, Vanya and Sasha will stay with their grandmother,” said Ekaterina Nigretskul.

The police are grateful to all citizens who, with their messages to the special line “102”, contribute to the rescue of people who are in a difficult situation.
