In Mykolaiv region will be tried the defendant of the murder, who hid from the investigation for 13 years
Investigators have completed an investigation into one of the defendants in the custom-made murder of a businessman in Pervomaisk, committed in November 2007.
Then the customer and the perpetrator of the murder were arrested at once. Both were sentenced by the court - 15 years in prison. And a third accomplice, a supplier of weapons and explosives, crossed the border and fled.
In November 2020, the Nikolaev law enforcement officers with the strong support of the special officers of the KORD in the city of Dnipro, despite all the conspiracies of the 50-year-old attacker, established his new name, place of residence, and detained him, despite the fact that 13 years had passed.
Investigators of the investigative department of the GUNP in the Nikolaev area under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office completed the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 15 paragraph 5, 6, 11, 12 part 2 of article 115, item 6, 12, 13 part 2 of article. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Deliberate murder for selfish motives, committed on the order of a previous conspiracy by a group of persons” and part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives” in relation to the detained intermediary of an ordered murder. In accordance with the sanctions of these articles, the offender faces up to fifteen years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property. On April 21, investigators sent criminal proceedings to the prosecutor's office. Now the court will decide the fate of the defendant.
