In Mykolaiv region, police officers exposed drug groups on cannabis cultivation and eliminated a network of greenhouses with narcotic drugs

Previously, the convicted men equipped greenhouses on the territory of a former farm on the outskirts of the village in the Voznesensky district, where they grew drug plants for further distribution in the territory of the Nikolaev, Odessa and Kiev regions. In addition to 645 cannabis bushes, during authorized searches, law enforcement found ready-to-use cannabis, opium, weapons and ammunition for it. At black market prices, the cost of seized narcotic substances exceeds half a million hryvnias.

On May 26, operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations, investigators of the Investigative Department under the force support of KORD and under the procedural guidance of the Regional Prosecutor's Office detained four previously convicted of serious and especially serious crimes of local residents aged 36 to 54 years who equipped a network of greenhouses for growing distribution, and further distribution of narcotic drugs in three regions. The homemade greenhouses were based on the territory of the former farm, as well as behind the habitations of intruders, were guarded and had special equipment with which the men from the seeds grew seedlings and then placed in greenhouses, irrigated, fertilized, illuminated, and later dried, packaged and Prepared for sale.

During a series of searches in greenhouses and residential premises, the defendants seized 645 cannabis bushes, 100 mg of opium, ready-to-use cannabis, as well as weapons, ammunition, about a kilogram of packaged marijuana, mobile phones, draft records, cash in the amount of 19 thousand UAH 250 and 2.5 thousand dollars. In general, the cost of seized narcotic substances at black market prices is more than half a million hryvnias.

On the same day, investigators detained all four men under the order of Art. 208 PCS. Currently, with the procedural support of the regional prosecutor's office, the detainees have been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 310 (sowing or growing dreamy poppy or hemp) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For illegal drug dealing, they face up to seven years in prison with confiscation of property.

After receiving the results of the examination, the issue of opening criminal proceedings under Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In the near future, the court will choose preventive measures for the detainees.
