An attacker who attacked police officers with a knife was detained in Lviv region

While intoxicated, the 35-year-old resident of the district center threatened passers-by with a knife and a sapper blade, and resisted and attacked police officers who tried to call him to order. For his actions, the detainee faces a penalty of up to three years in prison.

On December 10, around 20.00, a message was received to the 102 Operational Line that on St. Vladimir Street in Chervonograd an unknown man, armed with a knife and a sapper blade, was behaving inadequately, violating public order and threatening others.

The crew of the response sector of the patrol police of the Chervonograd district police department immediately left at the specified address. Law enforcement officers tried to call the man to order, but he did not respond to the legal demands of law enforcement officers, resisted and attacked the policemen with a knife. Law enforcement officers used special means against the offender and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The identity of the detainee has been established — he turned out to be a 35-year-old resident of Chervonograd, who was intoxicated. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.

In fact, investigators of the territorial police unit opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 345 (Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment - correctional labor for up to two years or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same period.

A pre-trial investigation is being conducted.
