In Lviv region, investigators reported a suspicion of a village chief who illegally “distributed” land for almost three million hryvnias

The civil servant, who, abusing his official position, acted contrary to the interests of the state, was exposed by the investigators of the Chervonograd district police department together with the operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region under the procedural leadership of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor's Office.

As established by law enforcement officers during the pre-trial investigation, a 68-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Chervonograd district, being the village head, repeatedly signed and issued knowingly false documents during October-November 2020 - the decision of the village council on the transfer of land into private ownership.

Thus, he illegally transferred 11 land plots to private individuals, causing significant damage to the interests of the community for a total amount of more than 2 million 738 thousand hryvnias.

Investigators of the territorial police unit informed the civil servant about the suspicion of committing the offenses provided for in Part 1 of Article 366 (Service Forgery) and Part 2 of Article 364 (Abuse of Power or Official Position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens. Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
