In Lviv region, police detained a group of serial thefts
Detainees “specialized” in apartment thefts. They have already been informed of the suspicion and taken into custody.
On November 11, immediately after committing another theft, a group of thieves were detained by the operatives of the Strategic Investigation Department in the Lviv region of the National Police and investigators of the regional police. The attackers carefully prepared for the crime — they monitored the apartment throughout the day, and, convinced of the absence of the owner and any obstacles, went “to work”. After picking up the keys to the locks of the front door, they broke into the apartment in the neighborhood “Levandivka” and exposed the property from there.
All detainees are residents of Lviv. “Specialized” exclusively on apartment thefts. Currently, evidence of their involvement in at least 4 facts of illegal activity has been obtained. All thefts were committed in different districts of Lviv, as a result of which the members of the criminal group seized jewelry and money in different currencies in the amount of more than 700 thousand hryvnias.
According to the results of the searches, the police seized stolen things, money, screwdrivers, knives, cores from various locks to the front door, keys, keys, magnetic keys to the intercom, gloves and hats, flashlights, as well as other items confirming illegal activity of the participants.
Three members of the criminal group were informed by investigators of suspicion under parts 3 and 5 of Article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court selected the suspects preventive measures in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail - 681 thousand hryvnias each.
Law enforcement officers check the involvement of suspects in committing similar crimes on the territory of Lviv and the region.
The procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
For the committed acts, the defendants may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years with confiscation of property.
