In Luhansk region, special agents during a police operation detained an attacker who threw a grenade at police officers
Police officers with the participation of soldiers of the special unit KORD found and detained a 39-year-old resident of the city. Borderline. This man has previously been repeatedly convicted of serious crimes, but according to the verdict of the court he was given a suspended sentence.
The special police operation has been completed. At the moment, investigators have opened criminal proceedings under the article of Art. 348 (Invasion of the life of an employee of a law enforcement agency, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border or a serviceman) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The border outfit of the patrol police stopped the driver of the moped during the practice of orientation in the area of the garage cooperative near the 7 microdistrict to check the documents. The driver, seeing the policemen, threw a grenade in their direction and fled the scene. Fortunately, the police officers were not injured in the grenade explosion.
Officers of the investigative and operational team, explosives and police leadership immediately went to the scene. Taking into account the audacity of the crime, the fact of the use of explosives and the danger that an armed attacker can carry for the civilian population, the head of the GUNP in the Luhansk region introduced a special police operation to locate and detain the offender. The personnel of the police of the Luhansk region were raised on the alert.
During the inspection, the officers of the investigative and operational team established that the attacker used an RGD-5 grenade. Also at the scene were found a pistol and an RGD-5 grenade, which he threw while fleeing from the police. As a result of the complex of operational-search measures, the location of the offender was established. KORD fighters detained him in his own apartment, where he hid in a bed box.
At this time, the man was taken to a temporary detention center, here investigative actions will be carried out with him until a precautionary measure is chosen.
