In Luhansk region, the police detained the head of the military unit service for receiving UAH 100,000 “kickback”
The defendant received an illegal benefit from a private entrepreneur for concluding a contract and signing documents.
Yesterday, August 30, operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Luhansk region of the National Police together with law enforcement colleagues detained a soldier after he received UAH 100 thousand “kickback” for concluding a contract and signing invoices for the supply of auto parts.
The head of one of the services of the military unit was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The funds were withdrawn by law enforcement officers from the place of detention. The issue of notifying the defendant of suspicion, Part 3 of Art., is resolved. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the SBI Terra Department, located in the city. Kramatorsk, under the procedural guidance of the Luhansk specialized prosecutor's office in the military and defense sphere.
For the solicitation and receipt of unlawful benefits by an official, the current legislation provides for liability in the form of imprisonment for a period of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
