At the border with Romania, border guards exposed a group of violators and found dangerous ammunition
Attempts of violators to illegally cross the border were prevented by soldiers of the border unit of the Mukachevo detachment. In addition, objects similar to ammunition were found.
This night, during a patrol, the border outfit recorded the movement of a group of people towards the border with Romania. The unknown carried packages on their shoulders. Realizing that they had been exposed, the violators resorted to escape.
Chasing the fugitives, the border guards came across a backpack abandoned by the intruders. As it turned out, it contained 5 items similar to grenade launcher ammunition and 1 shell for a hand grenade.
To the place of the dangerous find, the border guards immediately called employees of the National Police and the State Emergency Service. Other interacting structures and border guards of the neighboring country have been informed.
Currently, measures are underway to identify persons involved in the crime. Response teams are involved in the search for offenders.
On the detection of signs of crimes provided for in Art. 201 “Smuggling” and Art. 263 “Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a notice was sent to the police and SBU units in the Transcarpathian region.
