Three members of an organized group that specialized in robbery attacks will be tried in Kyiv region
The leader was a 28-year-old resident of the Baryshev district of Kiev region. His accomplices were two local residents.
The operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations and the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Kiev region together with the investigators of the Kiev regional police department were exposed and documented the criminal activities of the organized group with the support of the special unit KORD and under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The 28-year-old resident of the Baryshevsk district coordinated the group's actions, searched for objects for attacks and distributed among the group members the funds obtained by criminal means. The attacker was also directly involved in the attacks and sold stolen valuables and belongings.
In early December 2020, police detained three intruders during an attempt to carry out another robbery attack. One of them fought active armed resistance.
At the scene, the police seized a number of physical evidence of the group's criminal activities, including a pistol and its cartridges, shells, fragments of grenades, gas canisters, shackles, gloves, knives, radios, screwdrivers, axes, Balaklavas. The indictments against the organizer and two members of the criminal group were referred to the court under Part 4 of Art. 187 (robbery) and Art. 257 (banditry) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The offender, who resisted arrest, is also charged with criminal offenses provided for in Part 2 of Art. 345 (intentional infliction of beatings, light or moderate bodily injuries to a law enforcement officer or his close relatives in connection with the performance of official duties by this employee) and Part 1 of Art. 263 (carrying, storing, acquiring, transferring or selling firearms (except smooth-bore hunting), combat supplies, explosives or explosive devices without the permission provided by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For the committed acts, defendants may face punishment in the form of imprisonment up to 15 years with confiscation of property.
