In Kyiv region, law enforcement officers sent to court an indictment against a criminal group of car thieves
As previously reported, four attackers organized a criminal group to steal cars. So, from July 2020 to April 2021, men stole 5 cars on the territory of Brovarsky and Boryspil district. Among the cars — “TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO”, “TOYOTA AVALON”, “Mitsubishi Outlander”, “Toyota Camry”.
The criminal group carefully prepared a plan to steal a car. The men carried out preliminary reconnaissance of the location and used conspiracy techniques, avoiding video surveillance cameras.
The criminal activities of the men were exposed by the Criminal Investigation Department, the Investigative Department of the Kyiv Police Department together with special assignments under the procedural direction of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.Law enforcement officers conducted sanctioned searches at the place of residence of the offenders and seized a number of material evidence, in particular license plates of stolen cars, mobile phones.
The Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kiev region sent to the court the indictment against the organized criminal group under Part 3 of Art. 289 (Illegal possession of a vehicle) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Violators face imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years with or without confiscation of property.
