Kirovohrad region continues work on the implementation of the “Custody Records” system
As part of the project in the temporary detention center No. 2 (m. Svitlovodsk) posts of human rights inspectors have been introduced, and for the performance of official duties, a room has been equipped where people who are placed in IT are interviewed.
During a working visit to the city of Svitlovodsk, the head of the police of the region Roman Koziakov got acquainted with the conditions of activity of law enforcement officers. The leadership of the local police department, representatives of the prosecutor's office and the Human Rights Office of the National Police of Ukraine also participated in the event.
In general, the unit is equipped with the latest video fixation system, the equipment of which was completed at the beginning of this year. Also in the special institution, as in other detention centers of the police of the region, the electronic information subsystem “Custody Records” has been implemented and operates.
“The main objective of the project is to ensure the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of both detainees and police officers, which is one of the European standards that are implemented in police activities. We are grateful for the technical and methodological assistance to the representatives of the Consultative Mission of the European Union and the UN Office for Project Maintenance”, - said Roman Koziakov.
“At present, we continue to work on the implementation of the system in each division of the region, create comfortable conditions for police personnel and persons under the control of law enforcement officers,” said Mykola Sulzhuk, a representative of the Human Rights Office of the National Police.
