Sixteenth Center for Security of Citizens Launched in Donetsk Region

“The opening of the modern Center for Citizen Security is proof of the high level of cooperation between local and central authorities. Today we continue the practice of opening Centers, which are designed to provide comfort and stability in local communities. Up to 20 minutes is the maximum response time of all services to emergency situations,” said Denis Shmyhal.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko thanked the personnel for the work done, wished to always be ready for extraordinary events and to come to the aid of the community.
“The Center for Citizen Safety, which was opened today in Ocheretyany, is built with the best European practices in mind. Its goal is a round-the-clock prompt response to community requests for emergency assistance. The Ministry of Internal Affairs implements world experience and new approaches in its activities with only one goal - to create a safe environment for everyone,” she said.
Kateryna Pavlichenko stressed that the experience of the Ocheretyan community should serve as an example for other territorial communities throughout the country.
“Extinguishing fires, eliminating the consequences of emergencies and preventing their occurrence, providing quality and emergency assistance to the population, ensuring public order are the tasks of the new Center. I want there to be as few challenges as possible, but every resident of the community knows that if help is needed, it will be timely and provided in full,” the deputy minister stressed.
The head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin stressed that socio-economic growth and improvement of the well-being of the territorial community is possible only under the condition of a safe environment.
“The task of each community together with the authorities is to ensure the protection of the population and the territory from emergencies, from crimes, to organize public order. One of the options for solving these issues in the complex is Security Centers. This is an object where everyone can get a service in the security sphere,” said Nikolai Chechotkin.
The security center in Ocheretyany is equipped with two fire trucks, rescue equipment, fire and technical equipment. In addition, a unit of the National Police will be on patrol at all times.
It is worth noting that 15 security centers already operate on the territory of Donetsk region, and 26 throughout Ukraine, which include fire and rescue units and units of the National Police.
In total, 28 Citizen Security Centers are planned to be created on the territory of Donetsk region.
