Four new police stations opened in Donetsk region
Today, December 21, police stations in four villages of the Kramatorsk territorial community started working. Community police officers serving in the area received seven new Renault Duster service vehicles. A permanent police presence will enable increased security for more than 26,000 local residents.
The project “Community Police Officer” started in Kramatorska TG in April 2021. Currently, it covers Yasnogorsk, Shabelkivsk and Dmitrovsk, Bilenkivsk, Krasnotorsk settlement councils. Since October, seven community police officers have taken care of the safety of residents here. From now on, they will have everything they need to provide more prompt and quality assistance.
Each “sheriff” is provided with new service vehicles, weapons and a modern office, where citizens will receive in comfortable conditions.
The head of the Main Department of the National Police in Donetsk region Ruslan Osipenko, Chairman of the Kramatorsk City Council Alexander Goncharenko, district elders took part in the solemn opening of the police stations. The event took place in the village of Shabelkivka in Kramatorsk.
Ruslan Osipenko noted that the security project is gaining full-scale development thanks to cooperation with the Kramatorsk community, which has equipped stations and purchased part of the cars. Seven Renault Duster crossovers are equipped with digital equipment, communication equipment, first aid kits, etc.
“We are fulfilling our part of our obligations — handing our officers three service cars and providing all the means necessary to assist residents. Personally, I want to appeal to the police: you are the face of the National Police and must always be close to the residents, respond promptly to calls, ensure law and order. Based on the results of your work, an assessment of the entire police will be provided,” said the head of the Donetsk region police.
Community police officers are an integral part of the community, they will work and live in the community, so they will feel the needs of the residents as best they can. According to the mayor of Kramatorsk, the issue of providing POGs with official housing is currently being resolved.
“We want residents to have the opportunity 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to contact the police and receive an ambulance. Opening four police stations is only the first step. Next year, we intend to create six more such offices. Our ultimate goal is to make the city safer and more secure,” said Oleksandr Goncharenko.
Today, 15 police stations for community officers have been opened in Donetsk region. In the near future, it is expected to open four more stations in Mariupol TG.
