Border guards found a cache with buried ammunition in Donetsk region
During the implementation of tasks as part of the Joint Forces, border guards discovered another place of accumulation of weapons and ammunition.
So, yesterday the soldiers of the Donetsk border detachment received information from a local resident about the cache with ammunition. The border guard checked the message of an indifferent citizen — examined an abandoned well on the outskirts of one of the frontline settlements in Donetsk region. According to the results of the inspection, cartridges for small arms of various calibers were found at the bottom of the well. Police and emergency services personnel were called to remove ammunition to the scene.
In total, almost 900 cartridges of 5.45, 7.62 and 14.5 mm caliber were extracted from the cache.
Upon detection of ammunition, border guards sent to the National Police a notice on the detection of signs of a crime, responsibility for which is provided for by Art. 263 of the Criminal Code “Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives”. Relevant criminal proceedings are ongoing.
