In Donetsk region, border guards found almost 9 kilograms of explosives

The servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, during the implementation of tasks in the area of the operation of the Joint Forces, identify the places of accumulation of weapons and means of destruction in order to prevent their use to destabilize the situation in the state.

Thus, yesterday, border guards together with SBU employees discovered a cache with explosives in an abandoned building on the outskirts of one of the settlements of Volnovsky district of Donetsk region. Information about the explosive incident was provided by operational officers of the Donetsk Border Detachment.

To inspect the site of the detection of ammunition, a pyrotechnic group of the State Emergency Service was called in. During the inspection of the cache, law enforcement officers seized two TM-62M anti-tank mines, one RPG-22 anti-tank grenade, 10 hand-held shrapnel grenades of various systems and sank 8.8 kg of tar into them.

On this fact, border guards sent to the National Police a notice on the detection of signs of a crime, the responsibility for which is provided for in Art. 263 of the Criminal Code “Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives”. The relevant investigative and operational actions are ongoing.

It should be noted that since the beginning of 2021, border guards of the Eastern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine from the Joint Forces in the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions found 8 caches with weapons and ammunition, from which they seized 1 anti-tank grenade launcher, 818 small arms rounds of various calibers, 36 hand shrapnel grenades, 12 artillery shells of various calibers and 200 grams of explosives.
